As well as being very tasty, mint tea has many properties that help our bodies function better. So try to incorporate this tea into your diet.
The cooling effect of menthol, the main component of this tea, causes external sweating which therefore cools the body internally. Essentially, this stops fever and can reduce inflammation and associated problems.
This delicious drink is considered to be a powerful carminative, meaning that it helps move gas that builds up in the body and causes bloating, cramps and stomach discomfort.
Mint tea also stimulates the flow of bile to increase the speed and efficiency of digestion, thus promoting healthy bowel movements. As well as being carminative, it is also analgesic, as it reduces pain associated with cramps, abdominal distension and indigestion.
In short, mint has been used for thousands of years to solve a multitude of gastrointestinal and digestive problems. For this reason, it remains in demand today.
