Sencha Green Tea Leaves

Teas | Medicinal Plants | Aromatic Herbs | Tisanes | Infusions

Sencha Green Tea is a type of tea made from the infusion of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is called green because the leaves of the herb undergo little oxidation during processing, which is not the case with black tea leaves. Some other herbs are sold as green tea, but true green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis shrub.

This green tea is prepared from the first young leaves of the season, picked at their peak of flavor in late spring. The leaves are briefly steamed, rolled and cooled using the special Japanese Sencha process, and then immediately packaged to seal in their fresh taste and aroma.

Sencha Green Tea is known as the "King of Green Teas" and is one of the most cultivated varieties in Japan and widely admired in the West. The cultivation values of Sencha are around 78 to 80%. As well as being one of the most recommended types of green tea for beginners, Sencha is in fact a very versatile option for both cold and hot days. In contrast to the other varieties known as "shade teas", Sencha grows without any kind of barrier against the sun. When consumed as an infusion, this green tea transmits a really pleasant, light and refreshing sensation that will leave you relaxed and with a clear mind. It is an excellent option for detoxifying the body. The term "Sencha" is pronounced "sen-chu".

Sencha Green Tea is a high-quality product rich in antioxidants that work to reduce the action of free radicals in order to prevent cell damage. As well as helping to alkalinize the body, Sencha improves mood and reduces anxiety.
