Passiflora incarnata, also known as passion flower, is a medicinal plant with a high calming potential, often used to treat insomnia and reduce anxiety. Passiflora is a botanical genus that contains more than 500 species of the Passifloraceae family. In Brazil alone, you can find a third of the existing species of Passiflora. This climbing plant of South American and Mexican origin can contribute to restful sleep. Among the Passiflora genera, Passiflora incarnata has a blue flower.
Passiflora tea is considered one of the best teas for relieving stress, reducing anxiety, preventing insomnia and controlling blood pressure. By balancing the central nervous system, it improves concentration, stimulates creativity and promotes good digestion. It can also be an excellent ally in reducing the intensity of menstrual and menopausal symptoms. It is known as a tea with calming properties that is beneficial for hyperactive people and those with attention deficits.
Other indications: migraines, irritability, high blood pressure, poor digestion, muscle inflammation, belly swelling, nervousness, nervous tachycardia and gastrointestinal disorders.
Method of preparation:
*Recommended water temperature: 100º
*Infusion time: 5 to 10 minutes.
*Recommended quantity: 2 teaspoons per person. Approx. 2grs / cup.
