The medicinal plant known as calendula, marigold, wonder, golden daisy or verrucaria has the scientific name Calendula officinallis. Calendula has medicinal properties and benefits.
The plant, which belongs to the Asteraceae family, contains essential oils, bitter glycosides and flavonoids and the parts used to prepare tea are the seeds, leaves and flowers, but the essential oil also has benefits.
Calendula tea is a natural tea based on the Calendula officinalis plant, traditionally indicated for healing the skin and regulating diabetes. In terms of its benefits for the skin, Calendula Tea can help relieve pain caused by burns or inflammation and speed up healing. This rapid action is also favored by the infusion's ability to improve blood circulation. If you have acne, dermatitis or psoriasis, calendula tea can help. In addition, calendula tea promotes liver health, strengthens defenses and prevents irritation of the throat from worsening. Some studies indicate that calendula tea may stimulate the production of collagen (the so-called "most abundant protein in the human body").
Calendula infusion is also recommended for treating gingivitis, fever, canker sores, menstrual cramps, candidiasis, pharyngitis and gastrointestinal problems.
