Lavender (Lavandula officinalis) is an aromatic plant, also called lavender, which is widely used in aromatherapy, cosmetics and alternative medicine for various applications. A small shrub with violet-blue flowers with a penetrating aroma, it originated in the Mediterranean regions.
Lavender not only gives off a calming, dreamy scent, it also makes great tea. And Lavender Tea can bring benefits to the body and brain that may make it worth brewing.
There is some evidence about the positive effects of Lavender on the nervous system and anxiety symptoms. But there is much less research into the health benefits of Lavender Tea, which involves brewing the flower buds rather than smelling the essential oils.
Lavender's active compounds can have an impact on the impulses between brain cells. In doing so, they improve mood and have a calming effect.
Lavender tea alone may not be able to overcome any chronic worry or sadness you may feel, but it can support more intensive, traditional treatments and help you feel better.
As with many of the potential benefits of Lavender / Lavender Tea, there is evidence to support the use of Lavender / Lavender to help reduce discomfort due to menstrual cramps.
Method of preparation:
*Recommended water temperature: 100º
*Infusion time: 3 - 5 minutes (must remain covered).
*Recommended quantity: 1 teaspoon per person. Approx. 2 grams / cup.
*Indicative values which may vary according to personal taste.
Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.
