Native to Asia and Europe, Herb Robert is an annual or biennial plant belonging to the Geraniaceae family. The name given to this herb may be related to the innovation of St. Robert at the time it was discovered in the 7th century. However, there are other theories that justify this. St. Robert's Wort contains anti-inflammatory, antiviral, analgesic, diuretic, antioxidant, detoxifying and antiseptic properties that may contribute to the treatment of oral, gastrointestinal, digestive and rheumatic diseases. It can also act as a hormone regulator and immune system stimulant.
Herb Robert is recommended for gastrointestinal problems such as stomach ulcers, heartburn, difficult digestion and/or diarrhea. It can also be used as an immune system stimulant. It is also an adjuvant in oncology, especially for cancer of the digestive tract.
Herb Robert may have the following names: Bico-de-Grou, Erva dos Muros, Erva-Roberta, Bico de Cegonha, Erva de São Roque and Falsa Salsa. In its natural state, it can be added to dishes ranging from simple omelettes to fish dishes.
