    Gunpowder Green Tea Leaves

Teas | Medicinal Plants | Aromatic Herbs | Tisanes | Infusions

Gunpowder Special Green Tea is a type of tea made from the infusion of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is called green because the leaves of the herb undergo little oxidation during processing, which is not the case with black tea leaves. Some other herbs are sold as green tea, but true green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis shrub.

Particularly popular, Chinese Green Tea "Gunpower" (gunpowder) got its name because of the way the tea leaves are presented, which are rolled into a ball, resembling small pieces of gunpowder. This method of presentation allows the leaves to retain their aroma and properties, as well as protecting them from physical damage.

The Temple of Heaven variety comes from a renowned tea plantation and factory in Hangzhou, which produces a high-quality blend that so well characterizes the mild, yet slightly bitter and spicy aroma typical of Chinese Gunpowder tea.
A great companion, or just an excuse for a short break at any time of day!

As for its health benefits, Gunpowder Green Tea has an antioxidant effect that helps slow down skin ageing. It also helps to strengthen defenses, stimulate body energy, control diabetes and improve mood.

Find out how to prepare your cold tea: Pour two tablespoons of tea into 1.5 liters of boiled water, leave to cool and then place in the fridge. If you want to add sugar to your tea, you should do so while it's still hot. For a healthier option, add 1 dessert spoon of stevia (don't let it steep for more than 3 minutes as it will make your drink too sweet). You get a wonderful ICE TEA without any added sugars or artificial preservatives.
