Extra Long Basmati Rice DAAWAT 100% Natural

Basmati rice is a variety of aromatic long and fine grain rice from the Indian subcontinent. The word "basmati" comes from the Hindi b?smat?, which means "aromatic", and is a rice with a delicate and characteristic flavor and aroma. The sensory richness of Basmati Rice is enhanced by the region's unique climate, fertile soil and the waters of the rivers and mountain springs.

Basmati Rice is a food made up of complex carbohydrates and is therefore a source of energy. These carbohydrates are absorbed more slowly, providing a slow and sustained energy supply. In addition, Basmati Rice is naturally gluten-free and fat-free.

Basmati rice contains little starch and plenty of amylose. In fact, the lack of starch makes it easier to digest. On the other hand, the high amylose content prevents the rice from sticking to the pan after cooking. As it is rich in soluble fiber, it stimulates bowel movements and prevents constipation and other problems.

Basmati rice contains little sodium, which is good for overall health. On the other hand, it is rich in minerals such as potassium and phosphorus, which are important for bone health and heart function, for example. This rice also contains other nutrients such as magnesium, vitamin E and B vitamins - which improve cognitive functions.

To cook Basmati Rice, simply wash 1 measure of rice and cook with 3 measures of boiling water for 8 minutes over a low heat. Season with a little salt and spices to taste (garlic, star anise, lemon zest, pepper, bay leaves, cardamom). Turn off the heat and leave to stand covered for 5 minutes. Stir with a fork to loosen the grains. Consume plain or combined with vegetables, pulses or sauces. Ideal to accompany Asian recipes, such as rice pilaf and biryani.

May contain traces of other nuts and soy.
