Chai is the traditional Indian tea. The original Chai recipe uses the leaves of a local plant of the same name, responsible for the origin of the Portuguese term chá. There are more than three thousand variations of the spice mixture, which gives the drink its unique flavor. Each region of India and each grape variety uses different ingredients.
Even with thousands of varieties, the most common spices that flavor Chai are ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, pepper and cardamom. Tea with spices is strongly rooted in Indian culture and history.
Chai, which is just tea mixed with spices, does not contain milk, while Masala Chai also contains milk. The drink is made from tea, but is based on milk, preferably whole milk, which has a fuller flavor.
Spiced milk, Masala Chai, is becoming increasingly popular all over the world. And, like Chai, it can have a varied recipe, but is generally made up of whole milk, black tea, a combination of spices, and sweetener (sugar, honey or molasses).
A special blend of black tea, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, pepper and natural flavors, it will win you over from the first moment with its rich aroma and delicate taste.
Learn how to prepare your cold tea: Pour two tablespoons of tea into 1.5 liters of boiled water, leave to cool and then place in the fridge. If you want to add sugar to your tea, you should do so while it's still hot. For a healthier option, add 1 dessert spoon of stevia (don't let it steep for more than 3 minutes as it will make your drink too sweet). You get a wonderful ICE TEA without any added sugars or artificial preservatives.
How to prepare:
*Recommended water temperature: 95º
*Infusion time: 3 - 5 minutes.
*Recommended quantity: 1 teaspoon per person. Approximately 2 grams per cup (240ml).
